At the Institute of Podiatric Excellence and Development (IPED) we know that it stings not to get matched to a residency program after years of schooling. Preparing for this is crucial in your podiatric education. That’s why that we developed our Graduate Management and Clinical Program (GMCP) below you’ll find information that will help you in your career.

The GMCP matches podiatric students that didn’t match for a residency with podiatric practitioners to provide continuing education and a mentoring opportunity in a practical setting. This is in keeping with IPED’s mission of bringing podiatrists from all career stages together. With that we are sharing experience, inspiration and insight into the field of podiatric medicine for mutual benefit.

The GMCP program can assist you in a number of ways:

  • GMCP offers graduates of podiatric medical school who are without a residency a meaningful, hands-on, office-based experience.

  • It helps graduates develop a mentee/mentor relationship with an established podiatric practitioner. This will hopefully be long-term and of ongoing benefit to the graduate as they begin their own practice.

  • The program offers a real-life clinical and practice management. Experience with exposure to the necessary skills, philosophies and problem-solving will aid in preparation for future years of practice.

  • GMCP provides continuing practical education for subsequent residency experience and flexibility for residency interviews.

  • Enhancement of opportunities and increased skills that will make the graduate more likely to get a residency match the following year.

How to Apply
