So You Didn’t Get a Residency Program—Now What?
Not getting a match to a residency program can be devastating news. Your plans were set, you were on track, now what are you going to do? Don’t let this curve ball keep you out of the game. At the Institute for Podiatric Excellence (IPED) we have a program that will help make you a more attractive candidate for a residency program next year and also give you valuable experience in the field of podiatry.
Graduate Management and Clinical Program
IPED has developed a program where graduates can participate in a Practice Management Preceptorship in an established podiatrist’s office. Benefits of this program include:
- Opportunity to experience a real-life clinical setting and observe practice management
- Provide practical application observation and opportunities
- Development of a mentor relationship between practitioner and graduate.
Nuts and Bolts
The program is 10 months long and all participants are expected to attend the full program unless there are extenuating circumstances. The curriculum will be based on the various elements of practice management. Participants will get exposure to front office, back office, billing and coding, inventory, systems and protocols, marketing and other components of running a practice. In addition to practical experience, participants in the program will have reading, webinars and conference calls on relevant material.
